Men's Ministry
The need
Why are we doing this? The needs of men, for every ten men in the average church…
- Nine will have children who leave the church
- Eight will not find their jobs satisfying
- Six pay the monthly minimum on their credit card balances
- Five have a major problem with pornography
- Only one will have a biblical worldview
- All ten will struggle to balance work and family
Where we came from (what we did)
- One tri-power group continues to operate
- Monthly breakfast continues to be an opportunity for men to get together for an informal time of friendship
- At least two practical projects occurred this past summer
- Two Promise Keeper events were attended by some men of Lighthouse
Where we want to go (our vision)
- Encourage more men to join tri-power accountability groups
- Promote an active team of men to oversee, initiate, encourage ministry to men and the use of their gifts
- Encourage our men to be fantastic husbands to their wives and great fathers to the children
- Encourage men to use their gifts and abilities in various and practical ways to benefit others
- Organize ‘hang out’ events to encourage men to spend time together
- Provide opportunities for men and motivate them to reach out to fellow workers, neighbors, and relatives
- Promise Keeper’s events continue to be an important part of what we encourage our men to be a part of. These events provide training, encouragement, and times of friendship. Some of the upcoming events are… Game Day Men’s regional event April 11 & 12, 2008 - St. Thomas, ON, National Conference, November, Toronto
Please continue to pray for our men, young and old. God wants to use men AND women for His glory and His purposes.
